About .DESI Domain Names

The word "desi" is derived from Sanskrit and refers to the culture, people and products originating from the Indian sub-continent (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka). The .desi domain aims to connect desi individuals, businesses and charities from around the world; to promote desi culture globally; and to impact emerging markets within the Indian sub-continent and globally.
Beginning March 5, 2015 at 10:00 UTC, customers can register .desi domain names on a first-come, first-served basis.
Bulk .desi registration is supported during General Availability.
Anyone can register .desi domain names on a first-come, first-served basis.
These domain names can have up to 63 characters, with a minimum of one character, and can contain letters (a to z), numbers (0 to 9), and hyphens (except as the first or last characters of the domain name). You cannot register domain names with special characters such as & and #. IDNs (Internationalized Domain Names) are not supported for .desi domains.
KS Registry is the registry provider and desiNetworks is the sponsor for .desi domains.
You can register a .desi domain name for a minimum of one year and a maximum of 10 years.
We'll attempt to auto-renew your .desi domain name on its expiration date. We will park .desi domain names after the first failed billing attempt. If the domain name isn't renewed within 40 days following expiration, the domain name will be cancelled and removed from your account.

One nameserver is required for .desi domain to resolve, and a maximum of 13 nameservers is allowed. IPv4, IPv6, DNSSEC is supported.
