Website redirects without .htaccess rule

Hi

My website nerdyelectronics.com always redirects to https://www.nerdyelectronics.com

I created a subdomain origin.nerdyelectronics.com and that too redirects to https://www.nerdyelectronics.com

The .htaccess file is as below.

# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>

# END WordPress

I am not sure what is causing this redirect. Can you please help? I do not want any subdomain to redirect to https://www.nerdyelectronics.com

If I had to guess, you have origin.nerdyelectronics.com pointed to the same home directory as the main site - you would need to set up another folder in public_html for this new site

Re: Website redirects without .htaccess rule

Hi @PL281

Yes there is a subdomain origin.nerdyelectronics.com.

But the problem is that nerdyelectronics.com is getting redirected to www.nerdyelectronics.com.

How do I stop the redirection to "www"? There is no rule in .htaccess for the redirection.

Thanks!!

@bhageria

more than likely you have your WordPress site configured with the www as the domain. So therefore it will auto redirect to that
