I'm getting the following error message while checking my connection and trying to upload my website. What's going wrong. Yes, password, server, port etc are ALL correct.

I haven't seen an error like that before. If you're still having trouble, you might want to try a different FTP client.
You can also call Support and they can test the FTP connection for your account.
If you continue to experience this with other FTP clients, I would attempt to check the quality of your connection to the server. You can run a traceroute from your computer and look for high latency or timeouts along the route. Here are some links to help you do that.

If you notice an issue along the route, I would troubleshoot your network or see if your ISP can help you. If not, you could always check from a different location or network, or even have Godaddy make sure the FTP service is up and running on your hosting server
