Hi there,
I updated my website theme and plugins and now the following messages appears instead of my website www.slingingjokes.com. This has been going on for about a week now. Each time I update my plugins I get this message after I get the under maintenance message. I am new to WordPress therefore i'm lost and confused. Please Help! Thanks in advance!
This is the message:

Just noticed your post -- did you get this resolved? I hope so! 😉
Hey there,
This is a pretty easy fix. Most likely on of the plugins caused a fatal error which essentially breaks your site. You should be able to disable to plugins/themes through the database. You can also turn on debug to see which plugin/theme is causing the issue.
Here are some steps that should help:
Turn on WP debug: https://www.godaddy.com/help/enable-debug-errors-in-wordpress-24013
Disable plugins via DB: https://www.godaddy.com/help/disable-wordpress-plugins-in-the-database-26345
Troubleshoot themes: https://www.godaddy.com/help/troubleshoot-theme-errors-in-wordpress-26321
Once you determined the culprit, simply delete the plugin/theme, download a new copy, and try to upload it. If it still causes an error, you may want to do more research or hire a dev to help you out.

Hey there @crestme
When I go to that site, it comes up for me with no issue. I'm not seeing a 500 error. Is it working for you now? It may have been an intermittent issue that's resolved.
