Social Media based Login and Data

I would like to provide a "Login with Facebook" and "Login with Google+" kind of option to the users of my site.  It seems Wordpress has such features, but I'm not clear how to set them up.  Can anyone help?

Re: Social Media based Login and Data

HI @bhaskarns,

I'm doing the same on my sites.  I've been exploring some plugins.  One is https://codecanyon.net/item/woocommerce-social-login-wordpress-plugin/8495883 and seems to work pretty well so far IF you are running woocommerce.

Here is another one that is pretty good: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-social-login/

Stay away from UserPro Social --  I've tried multiple times to use this on GoDaddy servers and it does not work well and I've never had a good experience with it.

Here is a search link of the wp repository.  You'll see there are quite a few to choose from.

https://wordpress.org/search/social+login

Here is a search of CodeCanyon:  https://codecanyon.net/search/social%20login?as=0&referrer=homepage&utf8=%E2%9C%93

Just do your due diligence when selecting your plugin provider!

Hope this helps,

James

Re: Social Media based Login and Data

Thank you.  I am trying Social Login.  After installing the Plugin, it requested me to setup an account with OneAll.com. From there, I need to go into each social network (FB, G+, IN, etc.) and do a few setups to authorise data collection. I have completed that for FB, and added a Social Login Widget to my site. But I still don't see the "Sign-in with Facebook" button. What am I missing?

Re: Social Media based Login and Data

In the Facebook setup I had checked data other than Public Profile, Email and Friends List.  I think they do some kind of review and it takes time.  I un-checked additional data fields and it started working.  But now, there is a tag line that says "Powered by OneAll Social Login", which I didn't want Smiley Happy

Re: Social Media based Login and Data

Hi @bhaskarns,

I haven't actually checked on this YET, however; for most plugins there are premium/developer level pricing tiers.  Somewhere along the line, the "powered by" will be removed as level increases.  With some plugins you can change the "powered by" code in the plugin;  however, this may be a licensing violation so check on this before modifying this part of the code.

Many of the "powered by" plugins are always looking for testimonials.  If this is a good plugin for you, post a testimonial on their page with a link back to yours to "show off their good work."   Once you have the testimonial posted, then go to your footer and post a link to your testimonial at the "powered by" site right above/below their link.   Use their "power" as an energy/traffic source for your page.  Also, no coding involved!

Hope this helps,

James
