Cache Plugins

Hello -

I tried to install some caching plug-ins to help speed-up my website. Unfortunately it says I am not allowed to do so? Has anyone experienced similar problems?

The plug-ins I wanted to install included either W3 Total Cache or WP Super Cache.

Thanks!

Re: Cache Plugins

Hi @mclarenmedia,

Are you on a Managed WP hosting plan?  If so, the system is built so that the caching is actually done via GoDaddy hardware.  So far its worked well with my sites.

I have found that I can improve site speed by compressing images:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-smu**bleep**/

You can also consider a plugin like:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/autoptimize/

which will minify code, move scripts to bottom of page, etc.

There are also several other plugins to help compress code and generate faster loading pages.  Search the WP respository for minify and you'll see quite a few.

Hope this helps,

James

Re: Cache Plugins

Thanks for your response - yes, I am on WP managed plan. Unfortunately my site is taking 2-3 seconds to load so the GoDaddy caching must not be working very well sadly.

Re: Cache Plugins

Have you compressed images, etc?  How big is your total homepage delivery?  What theme are you using?  Sometimes, that makes a huge difference!

There may be some things you can do to increase your initial load.
